Coordinated Operation Leads To The Arrest of Notorious Corolla Cross Theft Syndicate

For the past few weeks, a grey Haval has been linked to a string of Toyota Corolla Cross thefts across Gauteng, with incidents reported in the West Rand, East Rand, Johannesburg and Johannesburg South areas.
During an intelligence-driven operation on the 22nd September 2025 by the SAPS, Insurance Crime Bureau and various industry partners, operational teams were led to the East Rand, where the alleged suspect vehicle was observed scouting the area for more than an hour, actively searching for a vehicle to steal.
The suspects eventually succeeded in stealing a white Toyota Corolla Cross outside the Kempton Park Court. However, strategically positioned teams had already secured key exit points, anticipating the suspects’ next move.
Soon after, the grey Haval was intercepted and pulled over, leading to the arrest of three suspects, including a female alleged to be the mastermind behind the syndicate. Previous intelligence had linked a female driver to the operation, allegedly using the Haval as a pilot vehicle to coordinate the thefts.
This successful operation demonstrates the effectiveness of coordinated intelligence, surveillance and rapid response in dismantling organised vehicle crime networks in South Africa.
Congratulations to our Investigators, Law Enforcement Agencies, Members and everyone involved in this ongoing investigation!
